Terms of Use
Last updated: 12 September 2026
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the MahaRecruit website and recruitment management platform by institutions, authorised users and candidates.
1. Acceptance and scope
These terms apply to maharecruit.com, app.maharecruit.com and related MahaRecruit services. By accessing or using the service, you agree to these terms, together with any institution-specific recruitment notice that applies to a candidate and any quotation, proposal, order form or service agreement applicable to an institution customer.
2. About MahaRecruit and the platform's role
MahaRecruit is a technology platform for administering recruitment and selection workflows. It is not a job board, employer, recruiting institution, government authority or guarantor of appointment or selection. Recruitment criteria, processing and decisions remain the responsibility of the relevant institution.
3. Accounts and authorised access
Users must provide accurate registration information, keep credentials and OTPs confidential, and promptly report suspected unauthorised access. Accounts and access credentials must not be shared or used to access a workspace, recruitment or record without authorisation.
Institution administrators are responsible for assigning appropriate permissions and promptly removing or changing access when a staff member's duties or role changes.
4. Institution responsibilities
Each institution is responsible for:
- the accuracy, completeness and legality of recruitment advertisements, eligibility criteria, vacancies, reservation or category configuration, deadlines and any application fees;
- scrutiny, scoring, interview, merit and selection rules, approvals, notices and results;
- compliance with applicable regulatory, university, government and record-keeping requirements;
- lawful and appropriate handling of candidate information; and
- giving platform access only to personnel authorised for the relevant work.
5. Candidate responsibilities
Candidates must:
- provide accurate, complete and current information and genuine documents;
- meet applicable eligibility requirements and submission deadlines;
- review answers and declarations before submitting an application;
- not impersonate another person, misrepresent information, tamper with records or misuse the platform; and
- comply with the recruiting institution's notice, instructions and rules.
Submitting an application does not guarantee eligibility, scrutiny clearance, interview, ranking, selection or appointment.
6. Recruitment records and decisions
MahaRecruit may structure workflows or produce calculations and outputs based on an institution's configuration. The institution must validate its configuration, vacancy and reservation breakup, scoring formulas, merit or selection outputs and final decisions before publication or use. Platform output is an administrative aid, not an independent legal determination.
7. Acceptable use
Users must not:
- use the service for unlawful, deceptive or fraudulent activity;
- attempt credential attacks, unauthorised access, scraping, abusive bulk traffic or interference with the service;
- introduce malware or other harmful code;
- reverse engineer the platform except to the limited extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
- upload content they do not have the right to use; or
- attempt to bypass access roles or security measures.
8. Fees and institution subscriptions
Institution pricing, subscription period, taxes, renewal, payment, refund and cancellation terms may be stated in a quotation, proposal, order form or service agreement. If those commercial terms conflict with these general website terms, the applicable commercial terms prevail for that institution engagement.
9. Privacy and data
Our use of personal information is described in the MahaRecruit Privacy Policy. Institutions and users must also comply with their own obligations under applicable law and relevant recruitment rules when collecting, accessing, using, downloading or disclosing personal information.
10. Intellectual property
The MahaRecruit software, branding, interface, documentation and platform materials are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Institution customers and users retain their rights in data and content they lawfully provide. Subject to these terms and any applicable commercial agreement, authorised users receive a limited, non-transferable right to use the platform during their authorised access or subscription.
11. Confidentiality and restricted records
Users must protect non-public candidate and institution information and access, use, share or download it only for authorised recruitment purposes. Users must apply appropriate care to exported records and must not retain or disclose them beyond their authority or lawful need.
12. Third-party services and links
The service may use or link to third-party providers for functions such as email, SMS, payments or external websites. Those services may be governed by separate terms and policies. MahaRecruit is not responsible for third-party services outside its reasonable control.
13. Availability and changes
We may perform maintenance, apply security updates and change or improve features. We use reasonable efforts to keep the service available, but do not guarantee uninterrupted, delay-free or error-free operation. Planned or urgent work, internet conditions and third-party dependencies may affect availability.
14. Suspension and termination
Access may be restricted or suspended where reasonably necessary to address a security risk, unlawful or abusive use, non-payment where applicable, subscription expiry or a material breach of these terms or an applicable agreement. Institution or candidate access may also end according to the relevant recruitment, account or subscription lifecycle.
15. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided on an "as-available" basis. MahaRecruit does not guarantee selection, employment, appointment, uninterrupted availability, or the accuracy or legality of recruitment content, criteria, configuration or decisions created or controlled by an institution.
16. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MahaRecruit will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from use of or inability to use the service. Any liability allocation or limitation in an applicable signed commercial agreement will govern that institution engagement. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
17. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms to reflect service, legal or operational changes. Revised terms will be published with an updated date. Where lawful, continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance; material changes may also be communicated through the website, platform or email as appropriate.
18. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any specific dispute-resolution, governing-law or jurisdiction provision in an applicable signed service agreement or order form takes precedence for the relevant institution customer.
